Beitou Thermal Hot Springs

The springs at Thermal Valley are the hottest natural hot springs in the world! The Beitou springs are just one of 12 sites in Taiwan and are located in the Datan Mountains area. You can really smell the sulfur! There are plenty of springs open to the public for a small fee, or you can stay in a boutique hotel. Many of them offer massages and have their own private hot springs. Around Thermal Valley you can see hokutolike, a rare type of rock that is only naturally occuring in Beitou and at the Akita Prefecture in Japan. There is one spring that is too hot for humans, but it is really cool to see it!
