Ann-Margret
Swedish-American Ann-Margret Olsson was one of the very popular stars in the ’60s and ‘70s. The multi-talented performer had her big break in Bye Bye Birdie. She also worked on Tommy, playing the title character’s mother. On Law and Order: SVU and Ray Donovan, she had a recurring role.
Vivien Leigh
Leigh has said she had to overcome her beauty overshadowing her acting skills. A director once said she was a “consummate actress, hampered by beauty.” She became popular for her roles in Gone with the Wind and A Streetcar Named Desire, but she actually had a more prolific onstage career. In the last few decades of her life, the actress had to fight tuberculosis but she ultimately succumbed to the disease back in 1967.
