We doubt that the 156,000 American, Canadian, and British soldiers knew that the fighting would go on for nearly a month! It started on June 6, but it was meant to begin a day earlier. They had to delay the operation due to bad weather. Dwight Eisenhower told the brave troops, “You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you.”

The Crow Fair started in 1904! It is basically a huge family reunion for the Crow Nation as it brings in all the Native American tribes in the Great Plains. Tens of thousands of people attend the gathering! It takes place in the third week of August close to Billings, Montana. It is pretty similar to a county fair but was infused with Native American tradition. The rodeo took place on a daily basis and featured youth events and professional bull and horse riders.
