The insane thing here was that a police officer helped Karen deliver her child. As we all know, most people give birth in hospitals nowadays. No one wants to deliver a kid on the street, but it could not be helped in this situation. Michael had no idea that he would get to meet the police officer who helped deliver him such a long time ago. And yet here they were!

If they do not go to the hospital, many give birth in the vehicle or the street. As a matter of fact, it is highly uncommon for anyone to deliver their kid at home with the help of a police officer, who just pulled up ad helped deliver at the last minute. As you can see, Matthew had excellent timing.
