She Once Tried to Commit Suicide
From the point of view of an outsider, Dolly appears like a happy-go-lucky person with everything she wants and needs. However, success does not grant people immunity from hardships. Dolly actually attempted suicide at one point in her life. This happened when she and her husband tried out an open relationship arrangement. She went on a downward spiral when she broke up with her lover – she tried to take her life, though her Boston Terrier named Popeye came to her rescue. He made her realize that this was a mistake, and she eventually put down the gun.
