Arrow was based on the Green Arrow from DC Comics which followed the tale of a billionaire playboy, Oliver Queen. There could be a few reasons why the fans of the series would get their hopes up for another season. Unfortunately, Arrow was going to end with its eighth season.

Law & Order: SVU was about investigating crimes that included sexual assault, child abuse, and domestic violence. And even though Peter Stone would no longer be included, the tv series would still be picked up for another season. This meant that Law & Order: SVU would be the longest-running primetime live-action TV series.
