When Michael Patterson started his day, there was no reason for him to know that it was going to be anything out of the ordinary. As a state trooper, his job mostly involved ensuring the safety of the highways and roads. A huge chunk of his job had to do with pulling over people who broke the rules of the road. A traffic stop is fairly routine for a man like him. He takes note of the offense, pulls over the car, and hands the driver a ticket.
