Dim Lights
You may have mistakenly thought that the dimmed lights were just an atmospheric choice. Well the reason they dim them during take-off and landing have to do with those crucial times being prone to accidents. With a dark cabin, one’s eyes would be able to quickly adjust to a lack of light if an emergency occurred. Also that means the lit emergency signs and pathway is more visible. In case of any emergency, the faster people are able to orient themselves, the better the outcome.
