Her Big Break
Amy Schumer graduated from Towson University with a degree in theater in 2003. She then moved to New York and started doing stand-up comedy. Her first performance was at Gotham Comedy Club on June 1, 2004. In 2007 she recorded a “Live At Gotham” episode for Comedy Central before she appeared on Last Comic Standing. She stated this was her “big break.” Her fame was later cemented when she appeared on the 5th season of the NBC reality competition series “Last Comic Standing” in 2007.
