Channel One
Anderson worked as a fact checker for Channel One and sold them some of his news segments. The first one they bought was of his coverage of a student protest in Burma. What he did was certainly risky, but it paid off! Not too long after the channel made him an official correspondent.

Anderson In Vietnam
Anderson then decided to move to Vietnam and study Vietnamese at the University of Hanoi. He filmed and created reports about life in Vietnam that was shown on Channel One. His experience there led him to cover other war-torn areas such as Bosnia, Rwanda, and Somalia later in his career.
