David Banda Mwale Ciccone Ritchie was adopted back in 2006 from Malawi and then a few years later they adopted Mercy James also from Malawi. Most recently, the superstar has made headlines when she announced that she would be adopting twin girls named Stelle and Estere. Madonna also has two biological children she had before she followed adoption.

Most people will recognize Mariska Hargitay as the brilliant The Law & Order: SVU actress and husband Peter Hermann adopted their daughter Amaya Josephine in April 2011. Mariska Hargitay said, “We talked a lot about mixed-race adoptions, and we are very excited that we are now a multiracial family”. 6 months, in the same year after they adopted Amaya, the couple then adopted a son named Andrew. But, they also have a biological son together who was born in 2006, named August.
