Barbara Parkins
Canadian-American actress Barbara Parkins moved to Los Angeles when she was 16 years old to start her career. The young woman started working as a backup singer and dancer to big stars in various nightclubs. She had her debut in the low-budget crime film 20,000 Eyes in 1961. A bigger project she worked on was the movie adaptation of Valley of the Dolls.
Julie Ege
At the age of 15, Julie Ege started modeling and at 18 years old, she joined the Miss Norway pageant and placed second. She ended up taking part in the Miss Universe pageant before moving to England. She became an au pair to work on her English-speaking skills and by the late ‘60s, was taking on small acting roles. Her most popular role would have to be for the comedy Up Pompeii in 1971.
