And he’s my boyfriend still.” But DeGeneres just wouldn’t let it go and kept pressing unto Stefani as to when they would marry. In which Stefani replied in a seemingly defeated manner “I don’t know.”

The talk show host decided to pick up the same topic again when Shelton appeared on the show in May 2019. After discussing the singer’s part in the movie Ugly Dolls, DeGeneres then talked about a former guest on the show. She said, “Jennifer Lopez was here, and I wanted to help her out with her boyfriend because she wanted to marry him, obviously, like [Stefani] wants to marry you.”
