Christina used singing as a way to blot out the pain of abuse. She said, “I turned to singing as an outlet,” and “The pain at home is where my love for music came from.” Christina began singing at home and quickly became locally known as “the little girl with the big voice.”

Inspired to become a singer, she began performing in local talent shows and competitions. At age 8, she won her first talent show. She performed Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.”
