Other Ways
There are other ways in which CF can be managed that don’t involve the airways. Implanted devices can be used for managing chronic conditions in a less intrusive way. They will allow long-term access to the bloodstream for the administration of drugs.

Airway Clearance Therapy
CF can be treated with a special therapy called, Airway Clearance Therapy. This is performed with manual chest physiotherapy or a special machine called “VEST.” It essentially works by moving the mucus around in the airways to help you cough.
