Princess Luisa Maria of Belgium, Archduchess of Austria-Este, was born on October 11, 1995, and was the fourth child of the Archduke of Austria-Este, Lorenz, and Princess Astrid of Belgium. The princess had been born in Brussels, and each of her grandparents and great-grandparents was either a member of the royal family or a noble. Princess Luisa Maria was born after the Salic Law had been abolished because of the change in the Belgian Constitution. It meant that the princess now had rights for the throne and was now ninth in succession to the Belgian throne.
