During a trip to the dentist, she recalled how “Elvis opened the cabinet and took out gigantic jars of pills. He began taking handfuls of pills and stuffing them into random pockets.”

It was on August 16, 1977 that Ginger Alden found the star dead on the toilet. She brought him to the hospital right away, but he was pronounced dead after a couple of resuscitation attempts. The autopsy and death certificate claimed that the musician died of a heart attack, although it was eventually revealed that it happened thanks to the unbelievable amount of substance in his system. The overdose was basically the catalyst. Despite this, many people thought it was a criminal act because of the sheer amount of pills found in his system.
