When he was a teenage boy in Memphis, he worked at the Loew’s State movie theater. He did not have the job for a long time since he was fired just five weeks later. Apparently, another usher felt jealous about his interactions with the girl working the concession stands.

He first got his hair dyed professionally when he worked on the set of Loving You. They used the mink brown shade to make his hair look black onscreen. Apparently, he later suffered migraines during his later years thanks to his eyelash coloring habit.
