Many fans were ecstatic when Netflix announced that an animated TV series based on the scarlet super thief from the 1985 video game Where in the “World Is Carmen Sandiego?” would be available on the streaming service. It was announced by the show’s official Twitter account in December 2020 that season four of the Emmy award-winning series would premiere in January 2021 and would be released in January 2021. Some Redditors believe that the streaming giant’s budget cuts and poor promotion were to blame for the cancellation, despite the fact that the account stated that the show was not canceled but rather ended. A live-action adaptation of the story, starring Gina Rodriguez, who played Carmen on the Netflix series, is in the works.

The fifth season of this Issa Rae comedy-drama, which is set to premiere in 2021, will be the final season of the series. During its four-year run on HBO, the show, which debuted following the success of her cult web series Awkward Black Girl, has garnered widespread praise from critics and audiences. In addition to receiving a single Emmy nomination and two Golden Globe nominations, it has received a 96 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Unlike that, however, the company’s decision to leave a television network has nothing to do with the audience or financial constraints. Rae told Deadline in January 2021 that, “We always planned to tell this story through five seasons, but we couldn’t have made it this far without the tremendous support of our audience.”
