The songwriter has had substance abuse problems, and he has faced related charges five times. In 1967, after police raided his Sussex estate during a bust, he even went to jail for three months. After meeting during the late ’70s, Richards married Patti Hansen in 1983 (she was into modeling). In 1983, their nuptials coincided with Richard’s 40th birthday, and the couple had two daughters.
