Finding A Home
Police dogs often live with a family that is not linked directly to the police force. This is done to allow the dog to feel loved and belong to a family like other normal dogs. Kyle was placed in a random family; for him, a lovely couple was chosen. This was strange to him at first. The way he was trained was not to receive warmth, hugs, and kisses. He could not help leaning into the warmth, however, and feel loved.

The couple gave Kyle all their love and cared for him to the best of their ability. When the couple discovered that they would soon be parents for the first time because their baby was expecting their first child on the way, they knew that there were going to be a lot of family changes. Most parents are skeptical of keeping a dog around their child as dogs sometimes mistake attaching babies out of jealousy. They couldn’t risk it, even for a dog as sweet as Kyle.
