Struggles Along The Way
Mariah has faced hardship over the years both personally and professionally. After separating from Tommy Mottola in 2001 the media reported she had an emotional and physical breakdown. She complained of being overworked and being treated like a commodity by her record label. In July of that year she was hospitalized due to extreme exhaustion.
