She Wasn’t Offended
The film did not offend Anna Wintour, however, when it was first released, according to Wintour. The fearsome editor told ABC News, “Anything that makes fashion entertaining and glamorous and interesting is wonderful for our industry. So I was 100 percent behind it.”
She Watched The Screening
In May of that year, Wintour went to see the movie. By way of Entertainment Weekly, McKenna claimed, “Anna came to the first screening in New York. She sat right in front of me and David [Frankel] with her daughter and wore Prada, which shows she has a great sense of humor!”
