All of Scotland’s Gold Mines
Owned Since: Unknown
Valued At: $300 million+*
Some things are so out of this world that they seem almost impossible to handle. Take the Crown’s right to the gold mines in Scotland. Individuals who find gold nuggets in the past often do not cash in on their luck because they don’t want to upset the Queen. The Crown has a monopoly over salmon fishing in Scotland and the rights to goldmines. We do not know when the mines were included in the real estate holdings of the Royal Family.
The World’s Largest Clear-Cut Diamond
Owned Since: 1910
Valued At: $51 million*
Most of us could only dream of owning a more valuable diamond than we paid for our car. The Queen is the proud protector of the 530.2-carat diamond. Before being used as part of the Sovereign’s Sceptre with Cross, the diamond was first presented to Mary of Teck in 1910. The diamond is seen rarely outside of the crown jewels. The Cullinan Diamond was tough to cut and split. There were nine stunning stones in the original diamond that collectively added a fortune to the Queen’s wealth.
