Winifer Fernandez is not unlike most people on the list as she plays a sport for a rather underdog national. We are sure the Dominican Republic is glad to have her on their volleyball team! She has represented the Caribbean nation since 2012 and captured many hearts with her incredible performance during the 2016 Olympics held in Brazil. She might not have led the team to victory, but she is a national hero nonetheless! On the bright side, she helped the team place gold during the 2017 Bolivarian Games.

The young female sports star has dominated headlines after she won the gold for the U.S. national team during the 2018 Winter Olympics. It is practically guaranteed that she will enjoy a successful career in the future. With various medals from the Winter X Games under her belt, there is no predicting what she will do next. It is interesting to hear that she got admitted into Class of 2022 at the prestigious Princeton University.
