Marriage Approval
Going back to the Royal Marriages Act of 1772, the royal family has followed by this ancient tradition that they must receive permission from the Queen before getting married. This law was created when King George II had a problem with his brother’s decision to wed a commoner. Thankfully, the Queen approved Harry’s request to propose to Meghan, but we don’t want to know what would have happened if she hadn’t.
