Peggy felt truly unsettled as she witnessed her husband pack his thing up. Peggy understood that she had no option but to let him go. Billie was serious about the oath he took, about protecting his country and although they knew the dangers at risk- they still said goodbye with hope and faith that either one would be safe.
No Backing Down
World War II was in motion and peaking meaning men were being called up left, right and center. The military needed men with specific skills and Billie was skilled but also stood out above the rest. He was a top recruit for them and had yet to be called. Billie was well aware that the day was coming. When he was called up it was somewhat a right of passage as he had the need and aim to fight for his country since piloting school.
