Selleck was able to land his biggest role as Thomas Magnum in Magnum when he was 35 years old. It was his shot to make a name for himself. The actor would fly all the way to Hawaii to shoot the show. However, not everything went according to the plan—did you know that filming was delayed for 6 months due to a strike in the writer’s room? Money was tight and Selleck had to work as a handyman to keep himself afloat. We admire how adaptable the actor was!

It’s safe to say that Magnum P.I. was a hit. After all, it was on air for eight seasons! Yup, that was 163 episodes of Tom Selleck decked out in a Detroit Tigers cap and Hawaiian shirts. We’re sure that fans of the show have similar merch in their closets. Let’s not forget about the mustache, either!
