She replied to the elderly couple before walking away from them, “Sorry, but I can’t serve you. And I’m afraid I have to disagree with what you said.” However, she did not just leave it at that and began asking her boss if the table might otherwise be allocated to any other member of the team. Yet circumstances were just about to get even more tangled.

Her boss continued to refuse, practically having to inform her that she should “suck it up or go home.” Brittany knew that she was unable to begin serving the table with customers who had such terrible opinions on a human being, not even considering trying to make one of her regulars feel really uncomfortable. So she picked up her bag and went through the door barging. But the ramifications of her actions were just about to unfold.
