“This is it!” Baker thought. He remained in his place and then said nonchalantly, “Can I speak to your manager?” Without a word, she walks sideways and yells at the back of the kitchen. She returns her empty look at Baker, and then a lady comes out in response to her call. She starts staring at Baker, and then at the queue behind him, “What the problem is, sir, you’re holding the people behind you.”

Baker saw where the worker’s actions came from. He knows this is not always going to be pleasant and fascinating. He dismissed the demeaning allegation that he is the reason for such ludicrous lines and tried to clarify to her what had actually happened as well as how management could address the problem he observes in her institution. Her remark was unexpected.
