The Indian designer was named Mohan Murjani and he asked for Vanderbilt’s signature and her swan logo to be on the line of jeans. The logo appeared on everything Vanderbilt launched including blouses, sheets, liqueurs, blouses, and shoes.

In 1978, Gloria sold the rights to her name to the Indian designer’s company and launched her own company called “GV Ltd.” on 7th Avenue in New York. She has also launched a line of fragrances under the brand name “Gloria Vanderbilt.” The rights to Gloria Vanderbilt jeans were sold in 2002.
