She married her co-star and director in The Fearless Vampire Killers Roman Polanski in 1968. When she was eight months pregnant, she was murdered by the Manson family.

Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman shot to stardom when she starred in the classic film Casablanca, opposite Humphrey Bogart. However, she had already been doing German and Swedish movies since the ‘30s! She had incredible international appeal, and a biographer described her as “arguably the most international star in the history of entertainment.” Director Anatole Litvak worked with the star and said this about her: “Through all her troubles she held to the conviction that she had been true to herself and it made her quite a person.”
