Kobe’s Death
DeGeneres doesn’t always put her guests in a tight spot, though. After the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant, a lot of fans, celebrities, and organizations paid tribute to him and his family, and DeGeneres gave out a statement (who had her birthday at the same time the news of the NBA legend’s death broke out). But as she began her speech, she couldn’t hold back the tears.

They Were On The Way To A Basketball Game
The NBA legend was travelling via helicopter to attend a basketball game in which he would have coached for his daughter Gianna’s team. Sadly, the aircraft crashed into a hill, and everyone on board was killed. Among those were Kobe Bryant, Gianna Bryant (aged 13), pilot Ara Zobayan, Alyssa Altobelli (Aged 14), Alyssa’s parents, John and Keri, Payton Chaser (aged 13), her mother, Sarah, and assistant coach Christina Mauser.
