The tragedy was merely unbearable for a lot of people. Not only were the majority of victims young, but one of the biggest names in the history of basketball disappeared in an instant. Lots of memorials and tributes were made by fans to grieve. Hundreds of people even went to the crash site to leave flowers and basketballs.

Another tribute also took place on the same day that the incident happened. It just so happens that the Grammy Awards would be holding its ceremony hours after the news hit the headlines. During the show, Boyz II Men and Alicia Keys performed “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday”, while Bryant’s jerseys were illuminated at the Staple Center.
