The 1.9 liter TDI engines that the Volkswagen Golf 4 came with are still arguably among the best engines ever made by VW. The turbocharged diesel units are pretty flexible, yet also robust. There are numerous Golfs with really high mileage on the clock but still run quite well, and they will most likely continue to do so in the foreseeable future.

Toyota Sienna
As far as mini vans are concerned, Toyota’s Sienna is one of the most reliable options on the market. The Sienna is extremely well built and has an impressive 4WD system. Because it was specifically designed for long-distance travel, the Sienna is sort of expected to reach and pass high mileage marks. One would think that other minivans on the market would be able to do the same, but sadly, that isn’t the case.
