In 2001, the canal was drained for the first time. At the time, they were able to remove more than 40 tons of waste from the water. Some of the fascinating finds included bullets, bombshells, and gold pennies from the First World War. Not only that, but they also found an automobile from the same period in time. It has been quite some time since then. What else would they find in the water?
