Considering the fact that Elvis and Priscilla decided to live separate lives in different cities with other people, it was no wonder their relationship suffered so much. In 1973, he filed for divorce and grew more paranoid about the men in her life. After the divorce was made official, they shared custody of Lisa Marie. Priscilla was also paid a divorce settlement of $726,000 on top of the child and spousal support. Despite everything, the two stayed close and allegedly held hands as they walked out of the courtroom.

Priscilla has talked about losing her identity when she suddenly found herself under the limelight at such a young age. She said, “I was kind of lost really in who I was earlier in my life, I really didn’t have teenage years, I learnt so much about him and was with him so much that I thought the way he did, I knew what he liked…I knew his thoughts, I knew everything as far as you could possibly do when you live together at such a young age.”
