This drama was renewed for a fourth and final season by Netflix earlier this year. Showrunner and executive producer Chris Mundy shared, “We’re so happy Netflix recognized the importance of giving Ozark more time to end the Byrdes’ saga right. It’s been such a great adventure for all of us — both on screen and off — so we’re thrilled to get the chance to bring it home in the most fulfilling way possible.” Season 4 will be divided into two parts, each of which will have seven episodes. Netflix has not confirmed release date, but some sources believe the first episode will be released in late 2021.

The comedy show was originally canceled by Fox after season five, but after a social media outcry, it was picked up by NBC 31 hours later. Unfortunately, it appears that the show will not be saved this time. Dan Goor, the show’s co-creator, wrote on Twitter in a farewell letter, “When Mike Schur and I first pitched the pilot episode to Andy [Samberg], he said, ‘I’m in, but I think the only way to tell this story is over exactly 153 episodes,” which was crazy because that was exactly the number Mike and I had envisioned.” According to NBC, Brooklyn Nine-Nine will end after the ten-episode eighth season, which will premiere in August. 143 episodes have been broadcast so far, bringing the total number of episodes to 153.
