Pierce made a controversial comment recently that landed him in the news. He stated he thought the next Bond would white after rumors circulated the new Bond would be black or female. He said there is no reason why the next Bond couldn’t be black, but believed producers would go with a white person.

Honors From Other Countries
In 2003, Pierce was made an honorary Officer of the Order of the British Empire. This award was given to him by the Queen of England. Usually, only British citizens receive this award. Pierce became a legal citizen of the US in 2004 but maintains his Irish citizenship.
