Pierce moved to Tinseltown in 1982. He was gaining popularity in Hollywood for his role in Remington Steele. People began to see him as the next Bond after he played this role. The Washington Post wrote he “could make it as a young Bond.”

Bond Beginnings
Pierce’s wife very much wanted her husband to play James Bond. She had a role in For Your Eyes Only and Pierce was able to meet Bond producer Albert Broccoli on this set. In 1987, Pierce was offered the role of Bond but he declined so he could continue working on the sitcom Remington Steele.
