Early Years
French couple Alain Degré and Sylvie Robert welcomed their daughter Tippi Degré into the world in June 1990. They named Tippi after the famous actress Tippi Hedren, who is best known for the role she played in Hitchcock’s movie The Birds. Born in Namibia, Tippi Degré grew up amongst wild animals in Africa after her parents decided they did not want a normal childhood for their daughter. For the next ten years, she spent her days making friends with leopards and running elephants.

No Regrets
Tippi’s mother, Sylvie, does not regret the decision to raise her daughter in an extremely unique way. “It was magical to be able to be free in this nature with this child, she was a very lucky little girl – she was born and raised until the age of ten totally in the wild. It was just the three of us living in the wild with the animals and not too many humans,” she told The Telegraph.
