Two Tortoises From Seychelles

Owned Since: 1972
Valued At:
$20,000*
Most of us have pets but probably not two Aldabra giant tortoises. When the Queen was in Seychelles, she saw two of the special animals. They moved to London Zoo with her instead of Buckingham Palace. Before moving to a new pasture, they lived there for some time. It costs somewhere in the region of $10,000 to buy a baby Aldabra tortoise, making this a very costly parting gift. In particular, one tortoise (Jonathan) is a staggering 188 years old, almost breaking the current Guinness World Record.
