1953 Humber Super Snipe

Owned Since: 1953
Valued At: $200,000*

Humber Ltd manufactured the 1953 Humber Super Snipe. It was marketed because of its size and cost for both workers and consumers. In 1953, Queen Elizabeth purchased her Super Snipe. Even larger and more powerful than the pre-WWII cars was the post-WWII version. The Queen and Prince Phillip used the 1953 Humber Super Snipe during the Commonwealth Coronation Tour. The car then went into storage, only for the Goodwood Festival of Speed to be brought out.

A Baptismal Font

Owned Since: 1840
Valued At: $2,500*
Known as the Lily Font, Queen Victoria first requested this large, silver baptismal font for her first child’s baptism in 1840. Edward Barnard and Sons, a silversmith firm, was commissioned for the project. The Lily Font is made of gilded, golden-looking silver. At the font’s base are three winged cherubs. Prince Albert helped in designing the font. The Lily Font was used for baptizing all the children and grandchildren of the Queen, except Princess Eugenie. As an official part of the Royal Collection, The Lily Font is stored in the Tower of London’s Jewel House.
