Katie Couric has been using her talent to boost her career forward since the late 1980s. Couric’s first job was at the ABC News bureau in Washington, D.C., later joining CNN as an assignment editor. For two years between 1984-1986, she worked as a general-assignment reporter for the then-CBS affiliate WTVJ in Miami, Florida. During the following two years, she reported for WRC-TV, a station which was owned and operated by NBC, in Washington, D.C. This work earned her an Associated Press award and an Emmy. The beloved journalist has worked for NBC, CBS, and ABC at some point in her career, and now works for Yahoo as a global news anchor. That’s impressive! On top of all of this, she’s also a best-selling author. After tragically losing her first husband to colon cancer, Couric has also become a vocal advocate for cancer treatment.

Ainsley Earhardt- $400,000

Ainsley Earhardt, a South Carolina native, began her broadcasting career before she graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in journalism. She was working as a reporter for a local CBS station in Columbia, South Carolina. While reporting in Columbia, she traveled to New York City after the September 11 attacks to cover South Carolina middle school students’ raising nearly half a million dollars for firefighters to buy a new fire truck to replace one lost on that day. Earhardt stayed in Columbia until 2005, when she took a job in San Antonio, Texas as a weekday anchor for KENS-TV Eyewitness News. She resided in Texas for two years before signing onto a job based out of New York City with Fox News Channel.
