Sir James Dyson is an engineer and inventor. Born in Cromer, he first matriculated at the Byam Shaw School of Art before he took up design and engineering. His first invention is called the Ballbarrow. It was essentially a wheelbarrow that came with a ball, not a wheel. He went on to invent Trolleyball and the Wheelboat later on. However, he first made a lot of money when he came up with a vacuum cleaner that used cyclonic separation. This earned him a prize during a Japanese invention competition, though big manufacturers ended up rejecting it. He then launched his own company and factory. Good move!
