Ann Gloag – 1.04B GBP

Did you know that before she founded the transport company called Stagecoach, Ann Gloag was a trained nurse? She spent twenty years working in a burn unit when she took a different career track. When she started Stagecoach, it only had a bus taking on the Dundee to London route. She had to ask money from her husband, father, and brother to fund the startup. Luckily, Stagecoach was a success and later bought out the National Bus Company. She is also the owner of Kent International Airport! She got it for a single pound and then shut it down. Who knows what she plans to do with it? We can’t wait.
